Prop Firm Restrictions for Türkiye: Who Banned It, Why, and What Is Still Open
US-based CME futures prop firms operate sweeping restrictions on Türkiye-resident traders. The full list of banning firms, the open ones, the clearing-house pressure behind it · and a technical analysis of the KYC residency trap.
1. The Big Picture: Why Did Futures Markets Close?
For Türkiye-based investors 2026 is a split market: several Europe-rooted forex/CFD firms keep accepting Turkish users, while almost every US-based CME futures firm has moved Türkiye onto its banned or ineligible map.
2. Firms That Banned Türkiye
| Firm | Market | Restriction type | Reason / note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apex Trader Funding | CME Futures | Full ban | On the banned-countries list; Türkiye residency found at KYC terminates the account. |
| Topstep | CME Futures | Ineligible | Listed in official "ineligible countries"; residents cannot open Combine accounts. |
| TradeDay | CME Futures | Full ban | Citing affiliated clearing firms and broker compliance rules. |
| TakeProfitTrader | CME Futures | Full ban | Directly on the restricted-jurisdictions list. |
| MyFundedFutures (MFFU) | CME Futures | Signup closed | No registrations or trading from Türkiye. |
| Lucid Trading | CME Futures | Full ban | New CME entrant, yet Türkiye is on its restricted-region list. |
| Tradeify | CME Futures | Full ban | Türkiye directly among banned countries. |
| Top One Futures | CME Futures | Full ban | No Türkiye-resident accounts allowed. |
| DayTraders | CME Futures | Full ban | Closed to Türkiye under regional risk policies. |
| FundedNext & E8 (Futures) | CME Futures | Partial ban | CFD side open to Türkiye; CME futures accounts restricted. |
3. Firms Still Accepting Turkish Users
| Firm | Market | Status | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| FTMO | CFD & Futures | Open | Türkiye is not on FTMO's banned list; Turkish users trade and get paid on both standard CFD accounts and FTMO Futures (with non-professional CME data attestation). |
| The5%ers | CFD | Open | Actively accepts Türkiye residents; balance-based funding programs, payouts to local bank or crypto rails. |
| Funding Pips | CFD | Open | No blanket country block · but IP and device-identity (CID) audits are strict. |
4. The Three Structural Reasons Behind the Bans
Firms are not delisting Türkiye randomly. Three structural forces sit behind the decisions:
- 1. US clearing-house risk policies. Futures prop firms are not market makers themselves; behind them sit CFTC/NFA-regulated clearing firms such as Dorman Trading, Phillip Capital and Ironbeam. Their compliance and AML departments flag certain geographies as high-risk and impose country blocks directly on the infrastructure tenants.
- 2. Payment rails and chargeback rates. When Stripe and card acquirers detect elevated dispute, stolen-card and chargeback risk from a country, they raise fees or block it outright · firms simply delist whole countries to avoid the penalties.
- 3. SPK regulatory shield. Türkiye's Capital Markets Board aggressively blocks unlicensed leveraged trading and offshore derivatives access, which pushes international firms to avoid legal friction in the Turkish market entirely.
5. Residency vs Citizenship · and the VPN Trap
The most common mistake investors make is treating a country ban as a passport ban. Apex, Topstep and peers key their rules to physical residency, not citizenship:
- Turkish citizens living abroad: with a Turkish passport plus legal residence, address and local bank account in Germany, the UK, the UAE or elsewhere, users can pass KYC with that residency and get paid normally.
- Türkiye residents on VPN: buying a challenge through a US/EU IP ends at the first profit withdrawal · third-party verifiers like Sumsub and Veriff drop the account permanently the moment they see an e-Devlet residency document or a Turkish bank statement, and the accumulated profit is erased.
